It's Homemade Popsicle Time!!

I am uncertain where the recipe for these homemade popsicles originated; I just know that when my Mom made them, they tasted better than any frozen treats that I had ever tasted! Of course, I have made them for my family and friends, and now my grand-kids think they are awesome! Try this delicious and easy frozen treat with your family!

Homemade Popsicles

Ingredients:

1 - 3 oz. pkg. Jello Gelatin Mix
1 envelope Kool-aid Unsweetened Drink Mix
1 cup sugar
*water (see below for amounts)

Directions:

Mix Jello Mix, Kool-aid Drink Mix, and sugar together in a bowl.

Add *boiling water, and stir until completely dissolved.

Add *cold water and stir well. Pour into molds and freeze until firm (overnight is best). Carefully remove the molds and enjoy!

*Note:  Use Chart below for amounts of mix and water.
Amount of Mix
*Boiling Water
*Cold Water
(Small Batch)
6  Tablespoons

2/3 Cup

2/3 Cup

12 Tablespoons

1 1/3 Cup

1 1/3 Cup

All

2 2/3 Cup

2 2/3 Cup

Approximate Yield:
Small Batch (6 Tablespoons of mix) made 6 small Popsicles.  Number of Frozen Popsicles will vary according to size of molds.  If I make the total batch, yield will be about 24 small Popsicles.

"This is awesome!!"

Nancy's Notes:

  • If you have extra "Popsicle Syrup", store remaining amount in a tight-fitting container in the refrigerator. If it gets too thick, set the container out at room temperature - or in a container of warm water and stir until mixture is the desired pouring consistency.
  • For molds, you may also use ice cube trays or small cups.  Add a wooden craft stick when mixture is partially frozen.

3 Grand-kids enjoying this delicious treat!
