Healthy?? Who, me??

Do you consider yourself healthy? I certainly do, although some may disagree. Last May, I reluctantly retired from my teaching job due to illness which was escalated by stress. The result? More rest and less stress have resulted in a more healthier me.

I am now very blessed to have more good days than bad, and overall I feel great most of the time!

What do I consider the key to my good health?  I practice what I will call the "5 Ps".
  • Prayer
  • Positive Outlook
  • Perseverance
  • acuPuncture
  • Pilates
Prayer and my strong faith in God have brought me through so many problems that I could not have handled on my own.

I feel a Positive Outlook is essential when facing an illness, dealing with an accident, and just dealing with everyday life.

I feel blessed to have the quality of Perseverance. Even during the really dark periods of my life, I never gave up. I continue to thank God for all the miracles that He has performed in my life and the lives of my family, and I know more of God's miracles are in the making!

I tried Acupuncture out of sheer desperation following my second car accident, and it worked!! At the present, I am receiving Acupuncture for Interstitial Cystitis, TMJ, Sinusitis, and arthritis in my fingers. It has also helped me avoid surgeries and recover more quickly from surgeries and other illnesses. Miraculously, even my vision has improved!

Pilates has strengthened my abs, thereby strengthening my back and neck. Pilates has also helped me to avoid Carpal Tunnel surgery and has strengthened my bones as evidenced by improved bone scans. I first started Pilates as a Physical Therapy patient, but now I attend wellness classes weekly and do workouts at home.

The Justice family has had a rather lengthy history of accidents and illnesses, some of which have been very rare. At one point, we were referred to as "The Job Family". I will elaborate more about these incidents in the future.

I will leave you with one thought.  Remember, you cannot control the events that are happening around you, but you can control how you respond to those events.

Make every effort to respond in a positive way!
